This art piece shows the parts of the colon (large bowel) in a background of the bright yellow sun.

The terminal ileum (brown left hand corner) which is the last part of the small bowel enters the cecum (orange) at the ileo-cecal valve.  The ascending colon (olive green) hepatic flexure (light green) transverse colon (dark green) splenic flexure, descending colon (brown) sigmoid colon (orange) and rectum (yellow) follow consecutively.

Artistically the browns, yellows and greens of the  colon provides an early fall color in a very bright background of the bright sun perhaps indicating a tension of the colors when considering the seasons.This art piece is suitable for an office that deals with the gastrointestinal tract or a company that promotes pharmaceuticals for the illnesses of the large bowel which occur with frequency.
