Description
“Alone but Together “expresses a spirit of cooperation and teamwork to create a beautiful dance, yet the dancers maintain their individuality since total physical harmony does not exist except in their footwork. Their arms go separate ways. The shape and position of their bodies is captured in a single moment of time of adagio. A sedateness of combined control persists.
The technique requires the dancers to flex and extend infinite number of muscle fibers, controlled by an equally infinite number of nerve pulses, balancing one bone on the other. We know and love this form and the dancers know exactly what to do to recreate the familiar shape. We cannot imagine the depth of complexity of biochemistry, physiology and anatomy involved in this process – It is a miracle!
