Description

The adrenal gland (suprarenal gland) consists of two major parts that are distinct structurally and functionally. The inner medulla produces adrenalin and responds to “fight or flight”. The outer cortex produces hormones that control basic metabolic functions.  The art reveals the basic parts of the gland, the triangular shape, with two lower limbs that are reminiscent of the legs of an “on the go” runner or athlete.
