“Pancreas Party” is the coming out party for the pancreas who prior to the era of modern medical imaging was not well recognized by anatomists and was known as the hermit of the abdomen.  The pancreas which as the quiet one of the abdominal family  in this piece is front and center in pink and white colors. These colors also are appropriate for the spring and summer season when the sky is blue and flowers are pink. The artwork is derived from a CT scan and shows the upper abdominal cavity with the pancreas, surrounded by the liver, gallbladder, and kidneys. The aorta and inferior vena cava are the major transport vessels and serve to connect the organs.
