Description
“Bricks of Genes Chromosomes, and the Nucleus of the Cell” shows the evolving chemistry of the nucleus of the cell. The art piece reflects a base pair consisting of two nucleotides, each with a nucleobase (aka nitrogenous base), a five-carbon sugar, and a phosphate group.
In this instance the left sided nucleobase consists of adenine which is attracted to the right sided nucleobase – thymine.
The sugar in this instance is deoxyribose.
Artistically surrealism and spherism with 3D effect is used provide a sense of time and inter-connection of events. The base pair Mr Adenine and Ms. Thymine are on a date surrounded by nature, trees and mountains. Attractive force is demonstrate by the difference in the shape of the convex adenine and the concave thymine. There is no doubt that they are destined to dance as one in the next episode!
